Tomorrow, we are going to celebrate Jason's birthday with an international food fest. Italian dinner with German Chocolate cake.
I like to cook the sauce for hours, and hours and hours. So, Jamie and I began prepping the night before...
The "s"nausages...
Daddy chop - garlic and onions...
Making meatballs...
German Chocolate Cake...
The frosting begins to take shape...
The sauce...
I love this pot. It is cheap. It is worn. But, it has been with me as I have evolved my sauce recipe. Can you see the time on the stove? It's 5:13 am folks. I want this sauce to simmer all day long...
The veggies...
The tomatoes. I like S&W the BEST!
Let is simmer for at least 6 hours...
Cupcakes...
Eggplant...
Stuffed Mushrooms...
Garden Party...
We wanted to do something with the girls. We resisted the temptation to go out and buy a bunch of new stuff. Instead, we decided to keep it real. Keep it simple. We are going to plant a tomato bush. Everyone will go home with their own plant. Then, we are going to make a flower arrangement. Once that is done - we are going to do a still life of our arrangement. What fun!!!!
The earth mother...
