This year my Father's Day was a lot of fun for me. We started by going out to lunch with our favorite buddies, Tim and Tauna. We stopped over at BJ's for some sliders, fries, and a wedge salad with lots of blue cheese dressing. It was tasty for sure! I especially like their "thin, crispy" french fries. We even got a free BJ's beer glass as a gift from the restaurant.
Later that afternoon Deb had to catch a flight to Las Vegas to attend a conference on Monday morning for her work assignment (Boo Hoo, I already miss her being gone). As many of you know, she has to travel quite a bit as a water conservation specialist for the Bureau of Reclamation. So Summer and Jason invited me over to have nice barbeque with the grandkids. We had a blast! First Jason and Summer prepared a barbeque of Bacon Burgers, Roasted Corn on the Cob, Salad, Chips and Dip.
Then Summer held a "blind taste test" contest where we all closed our eyes and tasted 8 different flavors of Haagen-Dazs ice creams. We each sampled a taste and then had to write our answers down on a piece of paper before Summer revealed the actual name. The following is a list of the actual flavors: Mint Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, Butterfinger, Chocolate Brownie Fudge, Dulce de Leche, Peanutbutter Cup, Cookies N' Cream, and Rum Raisin (my favorite).
Dr. Jason won (of course) guessing the most flavors correctly. I only got half of the names right. Trust me, it's harder than you may think to get all those flavors correct when you really can't see what you're eating. But we sure had fun trying!!
Then we all played some Skip Bo card games late into the night. Doug is pretty good at that game.
Towards the end of the evening we busted out the Baskin-Robbins Oreo Cookie ice cream cake that I brought over to share with everyone. Very tasty!
I really enjoy spending time with my family. We have so much fun and I just wanted to share these pictures of this special day with all who visit my wife's blog site. The whole day was "Way Cool"! Check out the smiles below...
