We celebrated Jamie's birthday this weekend. He wanted to see the new Cirque at Kodak Theatre - Iris. We decided to spend the weekend "back packing" our way through LA. We are practicing for retirement and we see our future in a camper with back packs exploring the world together.

You are in trouble!!!
On our way to China town to get some fine "high mountain" teas. We have really become "tea snobs".
One of the locals...
We first tasted teas while we were in San Francisco and were educated to the medicinal properties in them. Small buds that bloom in hot water. Sampling the teas...
My new Tai Chi jacket...
Growing up my grandma lived in Brooklyn. She would only eat fresh chickens. Down the street from her brownstone there was a market that killed the chickens while you waited. I can still remember the smell. In China Town they have fresh chicken markets that still have the same horrible smell of death. It is amazing how smells make up so much of our memories...
I am fascinated by Eastern Medicine. Here is a woman weighing out Chinese herbs for a client.
Heading out of China Town (til next time)...
Off to Kodak Theatre to meet my cousin Jayne and Alyssa for lunch...
We decided to try Rolling Stone Restaurant...
Check out our hosts eyes...
The animals of LA...
If you are ever in LA be sure to eat at the Pantry. Counter dining at its finest. And cheap, too!!!
Good morning sunshine. The view from our room...
We were watching CNN and there was a story about a famous photograher named Platon— who photographed Bill Clinton for Esquire Magazine, which was called the crotch shot.
Here is our version of the crotch shot...
Movie set for a Pauly Shore movie...
Metro Bus to the Natural History Museum...
One of the locals...
I could easily live here. There is something fascinating to me about fire escapes...
Natural History Museum. I love dinosaurs. There is a new exhibit at the NHM you have got to see, especially if you love T-Rex!
