As you get to know Jamie and me you will find we are both Disney buffs. Walt Disney is one of Jamie's heroes. I love Tinkerbell. We get Disney annual passes each year for Christmas. Then...we use them for anniversaries, birthdays and any other excuse we can find. It is certainly the gift that keeps on giving. Each time we go we have new, fun, memories.
One of the special food items we like to get when we are there is the Mint Julep. Light, refreshing and flavors that spring to life in your mouth. Here is a recipe I found on the internet. Hope you like this as much as we do.
Ingredients:
1 lb. granulated sugar
6 cups of water
1 1/4 ounces lime juice from concentrate
8 1/2 ounces lemonade concentrate
3/4 cups Torani or other brand of Creme de Menthe syrup (non-alcoholic)
Directions:
Combine sugar and water in a sauce pan unti sugar is dissolved. Stir in lime and lemonade concentrate and continue stirring. Heat until just below boiling - do not boil. Chill.
Once chilled add the Creme de Menthe syrup.
Add one part syrup to 5 parts water. Put in a glass with ice and garnish with mint leaves, lime slice or cherry.
