This is a fast dish that can be used for breakfast or even packed in a lunch. Jamie described these delictible edibles as fluffy little pillows - I could not agree more. We were also saying how you could add different fillers: sausage and cheese, turkey and cheese - get creative and make this your own. I think you will enjoy this recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 can refrigerated crescent rolls
- 2 tablespoons flour for work area
- 2 tablespoons softened butter
- 4 thin slices of deli ham, cut in half
- 4 slices of swiss cheese, cut in half (or other you like)
- 1 egg
- Sesame seeds or poppy seeds (optional)
Directions:
Unroll each crescent roll on a lightly floured work area. Turn to coat each side of the roll.
Spread butter on each piece of dough, top with slice of ham and a slice of cheese. Cut the ham and cheese so it fits inside the roll.
Roll up dough from the widest side and form into a horn shape.
Place each horn 2 inches apart of a foil lined cookie sheet sprayed with Pam.
Put egg wash on top of each roll. Sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds.
Bake 12 to 15 minutes in 375 degree oven until golden brown. Remove from oven and cool for 5 minutes. We like to dip these in mustard and eat. YUM!
